Gatun Lake Rainforest Canal Excursion

A fantastic alternative to the Miraflores locks is to actually boat through the canal and see all the action at water level.  The Gatun explorer boat will take you right next to the massive oceanliners and you will witness history in the making as the boat passes right next to the work being carried out to expand the canal.   The canal runs through the rainforest which allows for up close encounters with monkeys, snakes, crocodiles, and more.

Your journey takes you off the beaten path to the only floating house on the lake. Here you will enjoy a delicious native style lunch with refreshments.  Beers are far sale at the cash bar.  The House boat is a great jumping point for swimming in the lake too cool off during the midday tropical sun.

After lunch guests will kayak deep into the rainforest and eventually beach the kayaks and finish off by hiking to a waterfall/swimming hole.

The Guests will be picked up at 8am in front of Lunas Castle and dropped off at around 4:30pm.  The total time on the lake is approx. 6 hours.
